HOT TIP: Flip it over!

Ray will look its absolute best if you flip it over before putting it together. Once you take it out of the box and unroll it, simply flip the large felt piece over before assembling. You want the felt panels to fold the opposite direction they were folded in the package. This will give Ray extra structure and help get out wrinkles.

Other Tips:

It’s normal for there to be wrinkles in the felt when you first remove Ray from its packaging. Once assembled (don’t forget to flip it over first), these will come out in a day or two. It’s normal for some minor wrinkling to remain.

Ray can be assembled with either side of the felt facing up. If it loses some structure over time, simply unfold it, turn the material over, and refold it so the panels are folding in the opposite direction.

My Cat Doesn’t Sleep in it:

It’s natural for many cats to be afraid or suspicious of new stuff. If this is the case for you, we recommend placing a recently worn article of clothing from the cat’s favorite human inside, like a T-shirt. This adds a familiar scent to the new bed, so you’re cat knows it’s safe. Once they have used the bed for a few days, you can remove the shirt.

Cleaning & Care:

  • The best way to remove pet hair from any part of the bed is with a pet-hair sticky roller, lint roller, or a vacuum with a detail or upholstery attachment.

  • The cushion is machine washable in cold water on the delicate cycle and can be tumble dried on low.

  • Spot cleaning with warm water is recommended for the felt structure.

  • The felt may be machine washed if necessary, but this takes some extra care: It must be carefully folded to fit in a washing machine and washed with cold water on the delicate cycle. The felt sheet must be air-dried and may take several days to dry out completely.

  • DO NOT tumble-dry the felt. This will cause permanent damage.

  • Ironing the felt is not recommended, as the material is easily damaged by high heat.
